Until Further Notice

Dear WWW,

Deema will be off for the next few months because she is in great need to start the practical phase of her thesis project, design. This decision is taken not only because she, technically, has to graduate someday, but, because she really greatly misses design, and misses her non-digital life.

She knows that technology allows working on design by computer but she's an old fashion lady who likes manual ways of living.

She's very grateful for all of the very friendly bloggers who were always generous to step by and state an arrival specially,

Purplecious

The Simper
Someday

Hitman1
EarthQuacker

Many thanks also goes to the friends who gave her oral comments as well as all the visitors.

Unlike any previous pauses of hers, she's not going to be able to comment on her bloggers' circle of friends posts. She's sincerely sorry about that.

The only update will be on the ART AGENDA column on the side bar.

She reassures you all that "life is beautiful" even in the hard times, only, if you remain natural. She says: "Please review your surroundings, reading shouldn't be the only method of knowing. not even cinema can capture the vision of eyes".

Good Days,

Geomorphology أشكال سطح الأرض

Geomorphology: the study of the physical features of the surface of the earth and their relation to its geological structures.

I always been fascinated with geomorphology, it is my father's profession. and I found a stimulating connection with architecture. Today I got a lesson from him illustrated by Google Earth, and showed me the places and what are they, here some of the great formation of God from different places in the Arabian Peninsula.

Metamorphic Rocks, Aseer:

This is an extension of volcanic rocks but melt with other kinds of earth contaminants that makes rocks like schist and basalt.

Wadi Al-Duwaser:
The valley is the greenish part, it used to be water, and now it is a green land. On the right side you can see the northern edge of The Empty Quarter.

Eastern side of the Empty Quarter:

This wonderful mixture of sand and salt that was formed by the osmosis phenomena. This is the lowest area of the empty quarter, therefore, water which comes from Oman mountains goes down to concentrate here. then it continue its osmosis process that actually goes on and on until you see it in such smooth surface as you see in the following figures.

Southern Edge of the Empty Quarter:
Here you can see the end of any water effect on sand it peacefully goes on affected by wind instead. you notice the different type of earth, here it becomes more rocky until it ends down to Yemen.

Al-Hasa:
This is an image of different characteristics. They are man made fields, which are created in these circular forms because of the irrigation machine they're using, which is simply like a wheel that moves parallel to the ground, and moves horizontally like a mary-go-round and sprays water downwards. these crops are very expensive they sell it for four times their price if simply imported. but it is an encouragement for people to work on agriculture.

Anthromorphology

If human beings are parts of nature, can we exclude man made material from Nature?
Can we exclude their movement, their gatherings, their affection and production on and of other people from Nature?
What does the human morphology represents?
Is it another expression of Nature?
Is it a projection of mythology?

V

Valentine, I looked up in my diaries for a poem that matches. But time judges that I should be wiser now than ever. I read once -in a story for children- that love is wiser than philosophy, and that should exclude love from language. Everyone comes upon valentine with a story to tell, it should be surely a story! Story is almost a standard adverb for Love.

In my love day,
I shall think of the gardens of red flowers,
I shall think of the old seller down the street.

Of master cooks who make
Chocolate

Or shall I think of a beautiful lady and a man holding her hand?

Maybe my thought becomes nicer if she pushes him to the fountain,
then, runs away!

Or maybe I shall think of a father who reserved a very romantic table,
in their favorite dining place,
“but please, can you add five little chairs”

Shall I think of love in pairs?
I’m afraid,
love might be a place!

No, no, it should be a “time in place
Was it place or space?
It’s space!
It’s place!
It is nowhere dear, you’re only dreaming,

A dream! What an idea of love.

Is a dream wiser than philosophy?
If love is a myth,
Then only reality needs it.

We need love in every bit of detail in our lives, because you will never know when does language falls apart.

Le Petit Prince

A reply to Sad but True ,by Hitman1

In the fourth chapter of the classic novel "Le Petit Prince" (The Little Prince) by French aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry , the writer displayed the customs' strong effect on people's judgment. and ironically he wrote of a Turkish man whose astronomical theory was not accepted because of his custom.

Moroccan Mandarins

Back in summer 2002, I went to Jordan with my father to attend a conference. We met many nice people among them was Prof. Abdulhadi Al Tazi, a deplomat with a long record in political science. We were going to the dead sea by bus when I saw him having a nap while his hat is covering a part of his face. I took a pen and a very small piece of paper from my father and drew him.

When he woke up my father pushed me to give it to him and i did, he was -for my surprise- very pleased by it and he took the sketchy illustration -that made with all the driving flaws- from me like a treasure, and gave me a small traditional wallet in return and wrote to me a dedication inside it (seemingly the bus trip was too long).

After this trip i rarely heard of him from my father, for they only meet in conferences and so.

Few weeks back in January this year, my father came home with a bag full of papers as usual, but he sat down beside me and told me that he have something special for me!
"the special things are usually letters or postcards from pen friends", i thought.

But he opened his bag and gave me two pieces of mandarin, and said : "this is brought for you specially from Morocco" he said proudly!

First i didn't believe him -for a joke is easily put by him- and second i was a bit tired and frustrated from work that i didn't know clearly what's going on, therefore i demanded plainly a clear explanation for i cannot understand anything!!!

So he told me that Abdulhadi Al Tazi (who is Moroccan) came to Kuwait for a visit and gave my father those mandarins to be delivered to "Deema"!

It is very pleasant to be remembered... Thank you :)
