Le Petit Prince

A reply to Sad but True ,by Hitman1

In the fourth chapter of the classic novel "Le Petit Prince" (The Little Prince) by French aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry , the writer displayed the customs' strong effect on people's judgment. and ironically he wrote of a Turkish man whose astronomical theory was not accepted because of his custom.

YEP LET SUE THE WORLD :D

in fact the story talks about alot of political issues although it is seemingly a children's story. in other chapters it questions passports and and takes the knowledge -as it usually taken- from animals and natural habitats.
and it also questions globalization and the duties of authority to its people.

Yeah this story pretty much sums up the sad situation over there in Turkia. I have no idea why these guys worship atatork so much... the guy's idea of modernization is to wipe our everything traditional/islamic and completely resemble the western world.

His idea of being modern, is to *look* modern. How does the educated class over there follow him so much?

The only explanation is that those who follow him are those whom are against Islam. They don't really care about modernization as much as they care about suppressing Islam.

I never read it fully from the beginning to the end, always bits from everywhere, but once i saw a children's play that piled up the whole thing together into my head :)

well i think it returned back to the "education" of educated people

it is not how many books they've read to be measured, it is how they received the knowledge they'd taken.

my father today was saying a praise: "mn 5af salam" (translation: those who fear avoid all risks) well i saw this a very bias ideology, and i guess alot of people are living this kind of peace or escape, and then go with the flow..

going with the flow and reading books,
well it is not after 17 when i realized -after severe arguments- that not all the writers are actually right nor they are a guide to our lives, and on the age of 21 i realized that every writer is actually and really affected by his surroundings (not that i didn't know that before) but i saw it clear in the bigger context around him and in his precise location in history.

do you think all readers will realize this, and above all realize that their understanding of a certain book will never coincide with the writers intention..
